Video Transciption
Hey everyone. Welcome to Stout Advice. My name is Logan Stout. Well today’s phrase actually comes from a very good friend of Haley and I is our neighbor actually and actually they moved back home to Arizona and he plays with the San Francisco 49ers. Plays with the Dallas Cowboys for a while so he’s in Super Bowl last year. That’s Leanard Davis and his amazing wife, Amanda Davis, Amanda is incredible. Very entrepreneurial. We hate them not our neighbors anymore but she gave us a great little tidbit that is basically fulfilling your destiny.
You know so many times in life we try to take all control in our own hands. We try to take all the power in our own hands and we think, I’ll just do it. And look, at the end of the day, if it’s meant to be, it is up to you. You gotta go get it done. But there is one very important piece to that puzzle that we need to understand and that is this, you are made in the image of God. Your promise earth for a reason. Your unique, your special, you’re not an accident, you’re not some just random thing, ok. And we understand God’s will in your life meaning, what he desires for you, your “destiny”. When were tune with that. It’s amazing how much easier life is. God will absolutely will tell you, “yep” or “I don’t think that’s a good idea” but you know it’s interesting we have free will, right? We have a choice to go that way or where he let us do it. He said you know what, hey, I know the plans for you, plans for you to bring you peace and joy and not harm. But I’ll let you pick out your path right. I’m gonna give you that option to do what you want to do.
I think it’s important that we understand your destiny, right? You have a temporal destiny, depending on your decision that you make and you have an eternal destiny based upon the decision you make and it’s very important that if we’re seeking His will in our lives how much easier the decision-making process is gonna be. What typically happens though is we try to do it ourselves and then when we mess up and we get in a desperate situation then we typically fall on our knees and say, Okay God bail me out. How much easier would life be if we went to him first before made decisions especially big decisions and if we actually listen to what he puts to our hearts and we seek wisdom from people that are walking the right path.
You know fulfilling your destiny is an amazing thing and what’s interesting is I can tell you, I accepted Christ my Saviour when I was seventeen years old. There is a big difference between believing in God and having a relationship with God. I believe in the chair I’m sitting on, right. I believe it’s a chair, okay. But to have faith on that chair and to understand that chair is what enables me to trust this chair to actually sit on it so I don’t think it won’t cave out on me, right. Well, fulfilling your destiny operates the same way when you can have a relationship and understand the will of God and what He desires for your life. Here’s what’s amazing, you no longer roam the earth trying to figure out where you’re supposed to go. He will give you clarity. It’s amazing the wisdom of clarity that you will get. In other words, you follow the destiny that was laid out for. Some other things for submitting that.
Action item number 1: write down the way you make a decision. Right down the decision-making processes you have on your life and you’re going to make a decision. Ok. Write that down.
Action item number 2: When do you turn to the man upstairs for advice or guidance? Some of you watches may not even believe in God and you may not even… that’s fine. I’m not here to judge you. I’m not here to beat you in the head with the Bible. That’s not what I’m here to do. But I do what to encourage you as somebody who kinda roam the earth and somebody who actively prays for God’s will in my life. I’m telling you man, it’s definitely worth something exploring. It’s worth exploring a relationship that can help carry you, not just guide you but carry you in to your destiny. So action item number 2. What do you do to understand God’s will in your life to help you understand the destiny why you are on this earth? Thanks for joining us this week on Stout Advice.

Consistency – Can people count on you?

Consistency is a sign of true leadership. We must ask ourselves if we are consistent in our conduct and in our conversation. One of the main things we have to do to be more consistent in our lives is we have to continually evaluate what we are doing, why we are doing it, and where we are doing it.

Action Items:
Write down the major things you do in life
Evaluate the consistency

Stout Advice: Constructive Criticism

Constructive criticism is something we all need. You have to surround yourself with people who will be real with you. Constructive feedback is very important in order to succeed in life. We must know where to improve upon in our lives, and in order to know where we need to improve, we must surround ourselves with people who are real and will be honest with us. People would rather be showered with praise that will kill them versus constructive feedback that will save them.

Action Items:
Write a list of the people that are closest to you
Ask them for constructive feedback
Make a change
